Terms of Use

Last updated: 20 October 2026

These terms describe how Edugate Tutor Academy works: what applying, approval and publication mean, what you can expect from the directory and tuition board, and the rules that keep the service honest for everyone.

What Edugate is

Edugate Tutor Academy is an online and home tuition academy. The website lets families and students discover tutors by subject, level and city, browse tuition opportunities posted through the academy, and send the academy their own tuition requirements. Teachers can apply to join the academy; the academy reviews every application before any tutor profile is published. By using the site you accept these terms.

Accounts

Accounts are created through Google sign-in; there are no passwords on Edugate itself. The account is personal — do not sign in with someone else's Google account or pretend to be another person. You are responsible for the information submitted from your account. The academy can disable accounts that are used abusively or fraudulently; a disabled account immediately loses access to signed-in areas.

Applying to teach — applying is not approval

Submitting a tutor application does not guarantee acceptance, and acceptance does not guarantee tuition work. The academy reviews each application and decides whether to publish a profile. While an application is under review nothing is publicly visible. If the academy approves it, a profile built from your application becomes public in the tutor directory. If it is declined, the profile is not published and the reason is shown on your own application page. You can withdraw a pending application at any time.

Tutor profiles

A published profile reflects what the tutor submitted and what the academy approved. Tutors keep their own profile information accurate and may update it from their account; the academy may correct or remove profile content. Being listed — including any verified marking the academy applies — describes the academy's review of an application. It is not a guarantee of grades, outcomes, availability or placement, and families should satisfy themselves about suitability before arranging lessons.

Tuition postings

Tuition postings describe requirements families have shared with the academy. They are not offers of employment and the number of available tuitions is not guaranteed. Closed or archived postings stay visible as a record of board activity and are clearly marked as closed — they are not currently available. Responding to a posting opens the academy's WhatsApp chat; you review and send the message yourself.

Tuition requests

Families and students can submit tuition requirements through their account. Requests are reviewed by the academy and are never publicly visible. Submitting a request does not itself arrange a tutor — it starts a conversation with the academy.

Ratings and reviews

Signed-in users can rate their experience and optionally write a review. Submissions must reflect a genuine experience; one rating per account is kept and submitting again updates it. Ratings and written reviews publish under your account display name immediately, without a review step, so they must not contain abusive, misleading or unlawful content, or other people's personal details. The academy may remove content that breaks these rules or the law.

WhatsApp contact

Contact buttons open the academy's WhatsApp chat so you can write and send a message yourself. Nothing is submitted automatically by the site, and opening the chat does not mean a message has been sent or received. Conversations on WhatsApp are between you and the academy, where Meta's terms and privacy policy also apply.

Acceptable use

Do not submit false information, impersonate anyone, harvest other users' information, attempt to bypass the site's authorization or security, interfere with the site, or use it for any unlawful purpose. Content you submit (applications, requests, reviews, profile text) must be yours to submit and must not infringe anyone else's rights.

Service availability

The site is provided as available. Maintenance, outages or dependencies (hosting, database, Google sign-in, WhatsApp) can make parts of the service temporarily unavailable, and no uptime is guaranteed. Edugate is an introduction and review service: it does not employ tutors, does not act as a party to any lesson arrangement between a family and a tutor, and does not guarantee that every family finds a tutor or every tutor is accepted or placed.

Responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, Edugate is not responsible for decisions made on the basis of profiles, postings or reviews on this site, or for arrangements made between families and tutors after they have been introduced. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer law that cannot be limited by agreement.

Changes and contact

These terms may be updated; the date at the bottom reflects the latest revision, and continued use after a change means the updated terms apply. Questions about these terms or about your account can be sent through the WhatsApp channel in the footer. See also the Privacy Policy for how information is handled.
